On behalf of Creative Saskatchewan, we’re proud to celebrate the 10th edition of Art Now, Saskatchewan’s only fine art fair — a remarkable milestone for an event that continues to elevate the province’s vibrant arts scene.

On behalf of my City Council colleagues and the City of Regina, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 10th edition of the Art Now Saskatchewan Fine Art Fair - a celebration of the incredible talent and creative spirit of artists from across our province.
Regina is proud to support Art Now’s initiative, which brings together local, national, and international artists and galleries, providing them with a professional platform to share their work, gain exposure and connect with new audiences. These artists not only enrich our lives through their creativity but also sustain the cultural fabric of our communities. Their work sparks dialogue, inspires innovation, and fosters a deeper understanding of the world around us.
As Mayor of Regina, I am proud to support this event, as I truly believe the arts community contributes in countless ways to the vibrancy, identity, and growth of our city and province. Each of the artists showcased today is incredibly deserving of this recognition. This exhibit is a special moment - a celebration of the countless hours, emotion, and imagination poured into every piece. What you see here is just a glimpse of their dedication and passion.

Welcome to the 10th edition of Art Now Fine Art Fair.
Today we find ourselves in a world surrounded by change. This constant transformation is everywhere, reshaping communities, reshaping how we live and how we create.
Art carries its own energy; it lives beyond the canvas and the sculpture. Each person who encounters it brings their own memories, emotions and perspective, so the artwork changes from person to person and changes from moment to moment. Art Now is showcasing a collection of new creative energy from over 300 artists and artisans, presented in one amazing space. So please, slow down, remove yourself from the constant distraction of the outside world, and take this opportunity to explore the selection of art that has been curated just for you.
In addition to our galleries’ exhibits, we are featuring a special installation, Breathturn, by Monique Martin; 24,000 silkscreened life-size, hand-cut, paper butterflies. This installation invites you to pause and reflect on transformation and the beauty in small things.
SaskGalleries would like to thank our participating artists and artisans, Creative Saskatchewan and our many generous sponsors, partners and volunteers. Creative Saskatchewan’s ongoing support provides us this unique opportunity to celebrate the visual arts created in our province through this annual event.

Boozhoo/Tansi!
Welcome to the 10th Edition of the Art Now!
I am honored to be acting in an Advisory role with SaskGalleries as their Indigenous Advisor. I am what has become to known as a Traditional Knowledge Keeper. My role is to advise SaskGalleries on matters pertaining to operational matters, Indigenous equity and inclusion, professional development, celebration of Indigenous culture within operational activity and the Art Now, Fine Art Fair and other related matters.
One beautiful aspect about Art is that Art is universal, and Art is for everyone; no single culture in the world can claim Art as belonging to them and them only! As people across our country, we can all appreciate that Art can help us understand, enlighten, educate and inspire!
Congratulations to all of the artists whose works we showcased and Happy 10th Birthday to Art Now, Saskatchewan Fine Art Fair!
Meegwetch, Nanaskamon, thank you.

BREATHTURN
The Art Now Fine Art Fair presents Breathturn, an installation by Saskatoon Artist, Monique Martin. The installation is open all days of the Fair.
Transformation is part of deep time, when life hangs like a question mark, fragile and always changing. Sometimes a single moment, a single breath, in a single day can determine a life but it can also take years and decades to form a life. The process of transformation allows us to live in the continuous present as we know we will not be the same person tomorrow that we were today. In the symphony of breath, confidence takes center stage, each inhalation a declaration of self-assurance, and each exhalation a release of doubt. The arithmetic of life can be looked at as continuous subtraction or as continuous transformation. In the cadence of each breath, there is an unwavering pulse that harmonizes with the ever-shifting melody of life. When parts of our life run thin like the transparent chrysalis of a butterfly there is room for transformation, change, growth, movement – a breathturn.

I have showcased my work in numerous solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including public galleries and major collections such as the Royal Alberta Museum and the Boston Public Library. I have received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Saskatchewan Arts Board. Notable artist residencies include Disneyland Paris (2013), Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival (2013), and Bytown Museum, Ottawa (2010).
